Despite lots of health challenges, my Mum stayed optimistic and as active as possible, despite living with a life limiting condition. A positive mindset was key to how she chose to live her life.
Mum passed away in 2019 but this photograph reminds me of how her outlook helped her cope with the situation

Why PHYSIOCARE ?
PHYSIOCARE is a new South Devon based rehabilitation service dedicated to helping individuals regain independence through community based physiotherapy and personalised rehabilitation with a focus on your goals and aspirations. PHYSIOCARE's holistic approach ensures that you receive tailored assessments and support along every step of your recovery journey.

The link between quality of life and mental wellbeing is well known but unfortunately, as people get older - and particularly following illness or injury, it can become harder to get out and about which can then impact ability to socialise and stay connected with the community.

PHYSIOCARE focuses on maintaining independence for as long as possible, supporting people to stay active, mobile, and confident so they can continue to get out, engage with their community, and enjoy a better quality of life.

PHYSIOCARE assessment and follow up sessions take place in the client's home, or within the community, depending on individual needs. This approach allows us to gain a clear understanding what challenges impact a person's daily life and routine and to build a plan around these to maximise a persons independence as much as possible. The assessment takes into account the home and community environment, existing support networks including carers, as well as an individual's physical ability such as mobility, strength, coordination and balance.

PHYSIOCARE can also support coordination of health and care services and guide you through what can sometimes feel like complex processes. This includes liaising with the professionals involved in your care to help you understand and access the support available to you.

Me and my Dad visited Canada as part of his 80th birthday trip. Dad is a great example of living life to the full everyday !
About Me
I have always been passionate about community-based therapy and rehabilitation. Seeing people in their own environment is, in my view, the best way to understand how they can maximise independence and achieve wider goals - whether that’s a visit to town, a trip to the library, a walk on Dartmoor or something else entirely!

As a qualified physiotherapist with over 25 years’ experience in Community NHS Health and Social Care settings, I bring specialist knowledge and a commitment to personalised care. I have worked as a physiotherapist in community teams, as well as managing Health and Social Care teams for 10 years so have an in depth understanding of the processes and steps that can often be a barrier to achieving independence.

I have worked closely with community teams, clinicians, and local partners to design and improve services that are practical, joined‑up, and centred around what matters most to individuals and their families.
